Description
Using quieter roads and even some off road bits. Does miss small concentration of shops in Tilbury but passes a cafe, chippies and corner shops so it hardly matters.
Worthwhile for panoramic view across river plain from hill just outside Chadwell St Mary and some grazing marsh beside main road could potentially have wildlife interest, i.e. birds in summer

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

08 Jan 2024A decent short route making the best of an unsalubrious area. Although cold somewhat overcast winter weather is generally unflattering to such urban areas so this might be an unfair perception.
Quiet where possible. Great view at one point. Grazing marsh holds promise for summer wildlife. Huge cranes and structures at Tilbury deep water docks make an interesting contrast.
Kissing gate, steep grassy slope and a few undropped kerbs but no serious obstacles. Unlike the next leg of my journey!.
