Description
This route is the same as SUNHAR1 between The Sun Inn and Long Liberty Farm and between the Valley Gardens and Harrogate but contains new sections from Long Liberty Farm to Beckwithshaw and Beckwithshaw to Harlow Hill. The walk between Beckwithshaw and Harlow Hill is along the road on a tarmacked path separated from the road by a grass verge. The path from long Liberty Farm to Beckwithshaw is considered to be a particularly fine walk for views and nature. It is mostly a stony track except for the part near Beaver Dyke Reservoir which passes through grassy fields with cattle

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

22 Jul 2021Very slightly longer than SUNHAR1 but avoids a tricky bit of road walking, a rather nasty sludgy patch and most of the cows. The replaced section is much more pleasant than the equivalent section of SUNHAR1 but the disadvantage is that there is a relatively long bit of pavement walking between Beckwithshaw and Harlow Hill. Photos are in the route description section.
