Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

08 Jun 2021The walk is ok but some of the footpaths are a bit difficult to follow and not particularly accessible. The fields between Cat's Edge and Tompkin can be quite wet. Also walking into Stoke involves an extended walk through housing estates. I would recommend an alternative route.

26 Jun 2023I agree that this route is not the best option. I am adding a new version which simply follows the canal all the way which adds about 1km of distance but removes a lot of the height gain.
