Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

15 Oct 2023We attempted to walk this route from Leek, but soon found that the former railway line route heading south towards the canal has been fenced on the west side so that we were able to walk along the path southwards, but were unable to turn westwards across the south of the industrial park. We had to backtrack and walk through the industrial estate to reach the canal. This alternative has been uploaded. Otherwise, an excellent route.

15 Oct 2023A brilliant route in principle but comes a cropper to the south of Leek where building on an industrial estate has blocked off the right of way. I have submitted a similar route that I was able to walk.

15 Oct 2023Hi Mary. Thanks for testing this route and uploading the correction. I'd added it as I had walked it some years ago and knew it would be a great improvement on the alternative 'stolee one' - I wasn't 100% sure of the route at the Leek end and had to go with what the OS map shows.
Regards, Rob.
