15 Jun 2023The first half of the route gives an interesting perspective on the area around a railway line, motorway and Stansted airport flight paths. The countryside is actually very pleasant, although traffic noise is not far away.
I suggest taking a short detour at the start of the first footpath in Stansted to avoid steep steps and a very overgrown section of footpath for the first approximately 50 metres. Other sections of the footpath were overgrown in June 2023 but passable, preferably wearing long trousers.
Not sure why there is a kink in the footpath between Duton Hill and Thaxted - suggest stay on the footpath up the river valley and not go to Monk Street to reduce the mileage.
