Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

15 Feb 2023Route is fairly direct and easy to navigate. It took me about 2 hours at a reasonable pace. There are very few offroad paths included however. Some of the roads are fairly quiet but others are much busier.
2 things to note:
1. The route tries to take you onto the A13 near the Five Bells roundabout. There is no footpath here so it is not safe. Do not follow it! Go straight over the bridge over the A13, keep right, then go past the garage on the left hand side and then the car wash on the right.
2. The stretch of road after the part above is 50mph, and there is no footpath for most of it. I chose to walk on the grass verge on the south side of the road, which was ok for most of the way. However there were some overhanging branches and brambles that could get in the way. The grass verge is not suitable for cycling, but there is a painted cycle path on the road that should be ok.

28 Jul 2023Hi Scott, thanks for the detailed review. I didn't fancy that verge walking so I made a new route for StaBas via Horndon-on-the-Hill and One Tree Hill.
