30 Apr 2022Parts of this route were a bit overgrown when I walked, the worst part being at Over Stratton, however it was still passable, and according to locals, not always that bad.
I liked the middle section the best where the route skirts Ham Hill Country Park.
The villages that the route takes you through are all picturesque ham stone villages and very quiet so traffic isn't a problem on the lanes.
I didn't much enjoy walking along Montacute Road on the approach to Yeovil, although there is a verge to walk on if necessary.
The walk in to Yeovil along Preston Road and Grove seems to take forever. The roads are really busy with traffic, but the pavements are wide and safe. There are several pubs along Peston Road, so there is an escape if it all gets too much!.
