Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

30 Apr 2022 (edited 15 Nov 2022)This route has a few problems. Firstly at Wigborough Manor there is a maze of electric fences to get through with no signage, when you finally break through these you get to a grim gateway, with ankle deep stinking mud and stagnant water. Then at Norton-Sub-Hamdon the route is a little inaccurate. At Odcombe the route is extremely inaccurate, you would need a bulldozer to follow it. Worse, one of the footpaths from Old Road to New Road is blocked by wire and electric fences, locked gates and hedgerow.
Use SouYeo2 which avoids the hazards and is more accurately drawn.
Update - November 2022. Somerset County Council report that the problems around Wigborough Manor have now been fixed; electric fences gone, path surface improved and waymarked, and moved to higher, drier ground.
