Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

15 Feb 2022This is a route for foot only. Wheelchairs are excluded right from the off at Shotton station, due to the only access to the lower station being via stairs, but there are also stiles and kissing gates later on. Cyclists too can only get as far as Shotwick, as the route from there goes across fields, often with wet, cloying soil. There are also two lengthy unpaved road walks, and crossings of two busy A-roads.
Where paved, it's good, with crossings and ramps. There are a few shops and pubs along the way, with shops at each terminus, both near public transport. Not the best walk, but the best way of linking the two towns.
