Survey Photos
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

24 Aug 2023I followed Salfor Two in reverse on a rainy Sunday afternoon in late July, from Fordingbridge to the Salisbury meeting point.
Despite the weather I did enjoy this route and would generally recommend it, though it is not problem-free.
Positives
Majority quiet roads and wide off-road tracks
Easy to navigate
Direct
Negatives
The dip in the track approaching the Great Yews identified in the previous review was still flooded in the summertime.* It required climbing high onto the verge to bypass which wasn't easy nor did it feel particularly safe.
The track passing the Great Yews featured deep ruts and puddles, mud, exposed roots and other debris.
The short spell on Shaftsbury Drove toward Harnham is narrow and fairly unkept with branches jutting across the path.
*This might be attributed to the unseasonably poor weather, but I'm not convinced this isn't the case for most of the year. There are several nearby paths and tracks that could be taken to avoid the approach to and/or passing of the Great Yews, though I cannot attest for them at the time of writing. If planning to follow this route without diversion, it might be worth coming prepared with a pair of decent-sized wellington boots or comparable equipment.
For more detail on the above and of the route in general, please refer to the Photo Survey I submitted to supplement this review.

22 Dec 2022This is an easy to follow quiet backroads route between Fordingbridge and Salisbury. We walked this in the reverse direction but it was easy enough to follow. There aren't many opportunities for refreshments en route but it's not too far!
Some of the lanes had flooding in them when we walked this after a night of rain so you may get your feet wet in places.
Lots of wildlife spotted on route; hares, deer, kites and buzzards.
It has a lovely approach to Salisbury right past the cathedral too.
