Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

24 Apr 2024Well surfaced throughout, this route is accessible to bikes, prams and most wheelchair users (there are adapted gates on the route, which may present an obstacle for some - see pictures).
Both ends of the route have multiple shops and eateries and are served by regular busses. The North Wales Mainline also passes through Rhyl, with frequent trains across the coast and to Manchester, Birmingham and London.
From Rhyl, the first mile is along the pavements of town centre and residential streets, before taking a tarmacked right of way and joining the North Wales Path/National Cycle Route 84. From here, the route follows the Afon (river) Clwyd for two miles, with the last section roadside into Rhuddlan town.
Cows are often present along the route, but appeared to have no issue with the occasional walkers or cyclist shooing them to get past.
