Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

Muddy boots
11 Jun 2021CLOSED
This was a great route but unfortunately due to a river bank slip the route has been closed for public safety by the local council.
The landowner, the council, EA and NR are all working on a solution but it could take 1-2 years to reopen the pathway.

Muddy boots
11 Jun 2021There is a diversion set up by the council from Clara Vale to Wylam but it is along a busy road with no footpath. There is an informal backroute from Clara Vale recreation ground to the station at wylam, but this is over stiles and on a permissive path. Check before setting off, it could be 2022 before the NCN Keelmans Way reopens along the river.
