Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

15 Feb 2023As other reviews, this is a great route. Easy to follow, gentle gradient, peaceful, etc. There are no cafes en route, but places to sit along the way for DIY flask and bite to eat.

15 Jul 2022This a good route, shared with Cycles as part of SUSTRANS I think. It is mainly Tarmac and is well maintained by Path Groups in Peebles & Innerleithen. It follows the Banks of the Tweed largely and only crosses one road. Largely flat. Great views of the Tweed Valley on both sides and a number of benches along the way. Excellent facilities in both Peebles & Innerleithen.

20 Aug 2021This is a very pleasant walk, you can use the Official Cycle path but in places can walk on the Old Railway and side paths by the River Tweed. The Cycle Path is on the Sustrans Routes. The Cycle Path is maintained by both the Peebles Volunteer Path group and a similar group from Innerleithen.

20 Aug 2021Very safe, could be accessed by Wheel chairs. Watch out for Cyclists but ii is a shared Walking/ Cycle Path. Can be accessed in various parts and done in sections. Used regularly and Refreshments available at both Peebles & Innerleithen and at Cardrona. Beautiful views of hills & River Tweed
