04 May 2021This is a quiet route through farmland linking two villages without any simple public transport link. I have one concern , which is that the first section of the route out of pathhead runs for about 500m along a B road which doesnt have a walkable verge. There is an informal alternative path from Pathhead high street which may become restricted or boggy depending on agricultural activity at other times of year, so I havent added it yet (but it is known to most people in the village).
Beyond the first 2km out of Pathhead the route follows minor tarmacked roads or farm tracks. There is no signposting but it is easy to find in combination with OS map or route download. One area of steep and broken track in the farmyard at Murrays , about 500m, would be difficult terrain for wheelchair or buggy.
No facilities en route but shops, cafes and bus routes at both ends.
