Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

04 Jan 2022I walked this slow path on January 2nd, 2022. It was a nice warm day for the time of year.
The first mile of this short path is on not very busy Seaham roundabouts and roads. You go through some shops and bus stops.
After you leave the road, you enter a rough gravel path. Because it had rained two days before, there was a bit of mud on this part, but was not bad. For the most part, I managed to avoid the mud.
At some point there is a muddy path ahead and to the right that you should not follow; the correct path is ahead to the left one, through the grass. This is a narrow grass path. You could do this part of the path on a bike, but just barely. Going on this path on a wheelchair or with a pushchair felt impossible. There are two small bridged streams along the way. They are about two feet wide.
The view is not amazing, but you do cross bits of relaxing green space.
