17 Sep 2021Leaving Micheldever Railway Station the route is along Larkwhistle Farm Road for about ½ mile. The road has fast flowing traffic and no flat verges to step on to, although the first part has a dog walkers’ path in an adjacent field, The remainder of the route is mainly off cross country with just a few stretches of narrow lane. The 1/2-mile section through College Wood is marked “Private Land” and therefore the walker, on exiting Rownest Wood, should turn right onto the road and follow this round to St James Church to re-join the route. The distance walked is the same. From this point the route returns to a mx of country lanes and cross-country pathways until the outskirts of Alton where it becomes paved for the last mile to the Railway Station.
