Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

24 Apr 2021Route well drawn. I did this in reverse due to transport logistics. The first part out of Ellon was really nice. The massive negative point about this walk is the amount of time spent on the busy main road after Ellon until the turn off to Ythanbank. Busy fast road and no path. I understand there is no other direct route but this is a shame and didn’t enjoy this. After the minor road ends, you are supposed to go straight over into haddo estate but this is now blocked by a fence and you need to do a loop trough the forest to get back on track. I know the haddo to methlick part of the route well and it’s really nice. A decent walk with good start and end bits but middle bit is disappointing.
