Description
This is a minor update to the existing Marsla One route. This route uses the Huddersfield Narrow Canal towpath for its entire length and appears to be the route that most previous reviewers actually walked.
Note that whilst step-free and broadly accessible, there are some steep cobbled sections adjacent to the locks on this route. This section of the tow path is not tarmacked and is muddy with large puddles in periods of wet weather

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

13 Sep 2024I walked this one on the same day as MelMar two, but didn't realize it has not yet been verified. So ive pledged to walk it retrospectively so I can review it now. It's a very easy, pleasant and accessible walk, mostly along a flat canal path with no issues. I've done this one (and back) a few times and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others. It's the best way to get between Marsden and Slawit.and you can get the 3 minute train ride back!.

02 Mar 2024Easy walk between two pleasant Pennine villages. Follows the canal towpath for the whole distance but was very wet and muddy when reviewed (Feb 2024).
The Riverhead Brewery Tap in Marsden is highly recommended.
