Description
This route removes the non public-right-of-way section through North Woods from marchi one.
This looks to me to be a good alternative in general - being more direct and running by the White Horse pub in Biddestone. However, the section around Lucknam Park was flagged by Brian in his review of marcor one as being currently very difficult to walk due to being extremely muddy. Therefore, I will also uploaded another potential alternative that avoids this area too

24 Oct 2022 (edited 25 Oct 2022)Got round to walking / surveying this route today, and very pleased to confirm the section leading to Lucknam Park has been repaired. Previously it was a track which was under 600 mm of mud, generated by trucks removing trees on the estate, following the issues being raised with Wilts Council, it has been reinstated, with a healthy dose of hardcore to stabilise the track. With this now completed, the route is great. I recorded the route as 10.60 mi. The only variation to the route I did, was in Biddestone, adjacent to the White Horse pub, rather than turning left up track [ ST 864444 73519 ], I continued along main road, turning left at Biddestone Manor ( it is exactly the same distance ) and cuts out, fields, cows, and 6 stiles.........to me a no brainer!
Within the route there are 4 stiles, 4 kissing/gates, 1 ped gate, 1 field gate, 2 timber bridges ( 1 with gates, 1 with stiles ) and 1 ladder stile with 7 & 2 steps.
Biddestone has pub, toilets, bus stop, phone box, and benches.
