10 Jun 2023Walked this route on a hot and sunny Saturday afternoon. Given the location (some of the most deprived areas of north Manchester) it was surprisingly pleasant passing through a number of wooded areas and quiet residential streets. The final section follows part of the Rochdale Way through Alkrington Woods and is particularly pleasant.
Note that, like most open land in this part of Manchester, parts of this route are plagued by litter and fly-tipping. When walked the paths were largely well maintained and the open grass areas had been recently mowed.
