Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

15 Jul 2023Did this walk today (15 July 23) and agree with the previous reviews, it is absolutely lovely and clearly marked for the most part. There were a couple of bits that were a bit overgrown but overall great, I would really recommend it and looking forward to doing it from Worcester as we started in Malvern.

23 Aug 2022Definitely a five star experience.
A nice varied route taking in canal, river, fields and connecting a spa town and cathedral city.
Would walk this again, if in the area . . . and as said - if you want to drink in the views of the Malvern Hills - set off from Worcester.
These two places connect by a frequent train, so nice and easy to plan for a stroll.
Just a couple of small places where the foliage creeps onto the path and the cows behaved themselves! Some stiles en route.

20 Aug 2022A brilliant walk. Hard to walk away from lovely Malvern with its good-looking charity shops, al fresco glasses of wine on offer, and general air of classy olde Englishness. The starting place in Malvern is quite a long way up the hill so worth going 10 mins further up for the view of the plain and the walk to come.
The walk was very flat, through crops (at one point right through the tickly middle of an asparagus field) and a few fields of docile young cows. Through estate land, some interesting country houses and redbrick architecture.
After all the dry grassland it was nice to get to the Severn for the last stretch. It's huge into the locks of Worcester - I had no idea.
We modified Malwor one so as to go through the village of Powick, which was a busy main road but pavement throughout, and welcome ice lollies at the garage shop. We walked up the east side of the river into Worcester just for variety too.

19 Aug 2022I loved walking this route! It's super varied and goes through some very beautiful countryside. Agree with Dan, that walking from Worcester to Malvern is the to go if you want to enjoy beautiful views of the Hills.
Walked this route with fellow Slow Wayers, on the way we met a lovely older walker named Barry, came across lots of animals and took in the great worcester maize maze! There's a petrol station/ convenience store on the way where you can refuel.

19 Aug 2022I created this route after walking and testing it with some other Slow Wayers!
It's a delightful route that I'd 100% walk again. Like I said in the description, if given the choice I'd walk towards Malvern to have the pleasure of the hills on the horizon... both both directions are great.
Before we started off from Malvern we walked up towards Saint Ann's Well so we could see the view and Worcester in the distance.
There are some obstacles on this route that mean it's not accessible to all, but it's otherwise a fairly flat and straight-forward hike.
It would be great to see some other route options for this Slow Way. I'm certain there are some other great ways to hike between Malvern and Worcester!
I want to come back and walk from Malvern to Ledbury!.
