Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

01 Apr 2024Nice scenic route but very boggy in a lot of areas of the route. Some parts of the route between Powick and Worcester were flooded and the footpath was closed off alongside the river so a detour was required - 1st April 2024.

14 Jul 2022The walking is easy from Worcester to Malvern but once you get to the outskirts of Malvern the path is a bit overgrown and the marking are either not good or missing. Ideally you would have the gpx file to help guide you.
There is only one busy road to cross, just outside Powick.

06 Apr 2022The walk was pleasant and on fairly good tracks/ paths. I walked it alone and it felt safe. My one issue was that there were several stiles that were not dog friendly, I had to lift the dog over which wouldn't be practical for some people (and dogs !). I walked from Great Malvern train station to Worcester Foregate Station and it was well over the suggested 10 miles. An enjoyable walk, would recommend.

10 Jun 2021A lovely walk. The stretch by the Hams way bridge in Worcester needs re-routing, in the short term at least due to a closed right of way. The GPX trail is a little off at times, but is easily translatable onto a map.
I imagine this would be difficult for anyone unstable on their feet due to gradients, uneven surfaces, and styles/kissing gates restrict access to mobility devices.
From Malvern to Worcester it is generally a nice downhill slope, views were pretty good (until after dusk - I ran this route late in the evening). Interesting farms, fields, streams etc. I would recommend a train to Malvern and a walk back as a good day out (or vice versa).
