Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

04 Dec 2022A safe and direct route. Mostly easy to follow, the main issue being overgrown footpath entrances and fingerposts. Hazards included cattle and the lane walking along Bromsberrow Road, which was less than comfortable although not unsafe. Lots of field walking, an undulating route, rewarded with good views. Not a lot of places to stop, there was a pub we passed at Redmarley D'Abitot at the Staunton end. Definitely a walk to bring your own supplies. A highlight was a tree nursery which extended for acres. The mid section of the walk intriguingly dances along the county border before crossing into Herefordshire. The Seven Stars Pub in Ledbury deserves a mention as it combines fine ales as well as a varied food menu, including vegan options, which we made the most of. Some sections got very boggy, but the route makes the most of the existing footpath options. Definitely one I'd recommend.

24 Nov 2022I enjoyed walking this route and would certainly walk it again. Everyone in Staunton and Ledbury should give it a go.. and maybe connect the route to Gloucester like we did.
I had the pleasure of walking the route with David Sanderson. I believe it was David's 216th Slow Way route!
A highlight of the route was a vibrant autumnal tree nursery to the east of Bromesberrow Heath. Loved the view coming into Ledbury too.
You can expect footpaths, open (maybe muddy) fields and some quiet lane walking. There are also sheep, horses, cows and stiles.
