Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

21 Sep 2022This route fails of several counts. I’ve uploaded a viable version which I created on the hoof.
Picture 1: The track a mile or so south of Lakeside just before crossing the River Leven by the hotel, is a private road to a house and there is no through route here.
Pictures 2 & 3: The path through fields from Crook Hill past Harebridge House is horrible, almost impassable, due to bog, gorse, and no visible path through high and scratchy plants. Despite this being marked as a public footpath I had to divert along a slightly less horrible way across. The very quiet road is the only practical option here.
Pictures 4 & 5: The footpath south from Seatle becomes overgrown and eventually impassable.
Pictures 6 & 7: I tried the next (walled) path but that was totally overgrown with no means of escape, so I continued along the cross-field path instead. The part through the woods turned out to be difficult to follow with very uneven overgrown ground, so again I think the road is the best option.
