Description
Like Kintol 2, but with a better crossing of mapped Malden Way mapped, and avoiding Old Malden Lane by using some residential streets north of the railway. This also makes it about a mile shorter — a good middle way between the short and direct Kintol 1 and the long but nicer Kintol 2

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

26 Apr 2024A good varied walk with pleasant natural sections alongside the Hogsmill River. A slightly quicker way out of Kingston is the first quarter of Kinmot two although it misses out the first part of the Hogsmill. From the north side of the A3 it would be quicker to follow the pavement of the service road into Tolworth but only if you don't mind the traffic noise! South of the A3 the paths are softer and probably could be muddy in wet weather. A slight diversion to Malden Manor Station brings a selection of food shops.

23 Apr 2023I walked this from Tolworth to Kingston on a cloudy Saturday afternoon, with little rain in the previous week.
The first part after leaving the start, is to navigate an unpleasant road junction, before going east at the station. I started at the station (as this walk was a progression of coming from Esher), and quickly found myself on residential streets (photo #1). After passing a playground, the route joins the London LOOP along the Hogsmill River. Most of this section was easy going and lovely (photo #2), but just before Maldon Way, it became really muddy (photo #2). Crossing the busy road (photo #3) is by subway, and at the other (north side) the route follows the river again with easy going paths (photo #4). The route then diverges from the river to go around a water-treatment plant and along Villiers Road (photo #6), to then rejoin the river along Swan Walk (photo #7). This was again a nice part of the route. The last section goes through Kingston's town centre (photo #8) with lots of shops and people.
