Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

03 Nov 2023This is given give stars based on it being the best option between the two towns. The walk itself isn't "five stars" as it's pretty bland. It's on main road, partially through an industrial estate then briefly onto a cycle track - which is a nice part in itself, but makes up little of the walk.
The walk in Beith on the main road is barrier protected, at least, and the industrial area is fairly quiet for traffic - as is the area of Kilbirnie to walk through.
Based on the criteria for grading, it's five stars - though it's really function over enjoyment.

05 Feb 2022I walk this route often. It is all on tarmac, mostly alongside roads (some very busy) and therefore is noisy and functional rather than restful or interesting.
