Leaving Illminster there is a short section of road walking, with no path. The footpath that then leads away from the road is a dead-end, as it leads to a boggy wood where the footbridge across is has collapsed. Also the footpath from Seavington St Michael to Frogmary Green has been changed, and this route is blocked by hedgerow. Use Ilmsou 2 which avoids these problems.
