Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

23 Mar 2022 (edited 24 Mar 2022)Overall a lovely walk with excellent views and mixture of urban , hilltops , fields and woods - away from traffic until the suburbs of Bradford .
Not wheelchair friendly
Given 3/5 as a few things to note :
Start of walk is a very steep long climb up cobbled way to beacon hill. Very rewarding but there’ll be an easier way to the top of shibden park for those who need it - tho it might mean crossing a few main roads
Very busy road to cross ( A58)after shibden park
Route takes you along bird Holme lane - past the most docile highland cattle who are usually blocking the often muddy route - this could be avoided if needed by turning right up Wood Lane which takes you up to A 644 a bit earlier - there are a few paths then that you could follow to rejoin the route at coley church
There’s a difficult stile into sun woods - need to be very agile to get over as steps missing
Riding hill/ manorley lane is a narrow quiet road with no footpath - but cars can speed up here
The ginnel leading down from Haycliffe hill was blocked at end by some dumped shrubs but managed to squeeze past ( could go down road as an alternative )
It was lovely to walk through 2 parks into Bradford
