Description
This workable route that is really enjoyable in places, but there are a number accessibility issues throughout the route. This includes locked gates and unclear paths.
The route is very similar to Giltis One.
The Tisbury end avoids 5km of lanes by following paths, lengthening the route by 1km. It also follows the reality of access on the ground as a number of paths have been redirected.
Someone local will probably know of an easier route

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

11 May 2024Pluses and negatives: some fine views, wild fauna (deer, hares) and a good woodland stretch (Beacon Hill); but as with Giltis One: a locked gate (Coleman's Farm), an unmarked diversion, an overgrown path and some missing waymarking signs. One field with cows. One also needs to be relatively fit to do both Giltis One and Two. Quite a lot of stiles.

07 May 2024This is a disappointing route.. not because of the landscape, but because the rights of way are not as good as they should be.
It includes some stunning countryside, great views and beautiful woodland. It could so easily be a 4 or 5 star route, but it is riddled with issues: locked gates (Colemans Farm), electric fence wires (that you'll need limbo under or use a stick to lift) and multiple diversions that don't match OS maps. There are lots of stiles and cows too.
It did not feel like some of the paths have been walked much recently and many were indistinct from the landscape. You'll need your map reading skills to find your way.
A little attention and this Slow Way could be a great one.
There are no refreshments (shops or pubs) on the route, so make sure you are stocked up!
I'd 100% enjoy walking this route again, but it's not a route for less confident people who don't like climbing over or under stuff.
