05 Apr 2023Having now walked and surveyed all five routes between Frome and BOA, I think a mix of routes is the best.
Between Rode and BOA, Frobra three ( Farleigh Hungerford and Iford ) is the best
Between Beckington and Frome, depending on whether you want
a ) the shortest route which is the pavement by the B3090 ( Frobra four ) ( o/all 11.4 mi )
b ) the picturesque route alongside Orchardleigh lake ( Frobra five ) (o/all 12.6 mi )
Both come out near the Weir on Lullington Lane
Frobra one is possibly dangerous, in having to cross the A361, and Frobra two is currently impossible.
Brian
16 Mar 2023The routes to the east of the B3090, have to cross the very busy A361, whereas this route to the west of the B3090 is slightly longer, is both far safer, and significantly more attractive.
