Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

05 Nov 2022Review of SlowWays Route Falgra one (Falkirk to Grangemouth)
I walked this route (in reverse) on a sunny morning in November 2022. After leaving the centre of Grangemouth it diverts down to the towpath along the Forth and Clyde Canal (I followed the signs for the Charlotte Dundas Heritage Trail). There is then an extremely pleasant section along the canal, past the Kelpies and through Helix Park with only two road crossings until the Westfield Roundabout (where care is required as there is no assisted crossing point for the A9 that I could find). The route continues along Grangemouth Road more or less to the centre of Falkirk. This is a pleasant route with lots to see (although the section along Grangemouth Road is a bit dull). There are no major issues except for the busy, unassisted crossing of the A9. The route would suit walkers and wheelers equally.
