Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

10 Sep 2021The route shows the footpath going diagonally across the field at Bishopstoke when in fact it follows the edge of the field. At the time of walking (August) the narrow path was edged with fully grown corn on one side and overgrown nettles on the other.
The path through the woods at Bishopstoke during August was somewhat overgrown with nettles and can be very muddy & slippery following a spell of rain.
The route after West Horton Farm turns south along the edge of the field before turning east. The 'path' across the field is very boggy (even in summer) and I would suggest continuing east from West Horton Farm towards Lake Farm and then turning south to walk through the farm buildings.
After crossing Allington Lane, the path across the field from Fir Tree Lane is quite indistinct. Further on, the route shows the path cutting across the last field when approaching Horton Heath but again the path takes you around the inside edge of the field in an approximately southerly direction before turning east towards the edge of housing at Horton Heath.
After dropping down from the trig point at Durley Manor Farm the path is again quite indistinct and can be very boggy even in summer as it passes around the northern edge of the copse and descends to meet the Pilgrims' Trail.
