Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

21 May 2022 (edited 01 Jun 2023)At the moment this route has a diversion at Monifieth.
This is a nice walk along the banks of the Tay estuary suitable for bikes, buggiesand wheelchairs. It's a shared walking cycling path so pedestrians and cyclusts need to be considerate of each other
The start runs through the Port of Dundee along the railway line, away from the main road.
St the end of the docks you come out at the waterside and folliw a tarmac path onto the newly improved paved esplanade which will eventually form a fully accesible route between Broughty Ferry and Monifieth.
The path goes right at the harbour towards Broughty Ferry Castle then left at the playpark and looping back left to run along the beach. There are public toilets by the Castle.
From here there is a wide paved pavement with two onroad lanes for cyclists which runs to the end of the Esplanade.
At this point a tarmac path takes you to the bridge at Balmossie Station. The route is still being built here so the path us diverted up along the main road crossing back over the railway onto the coast path at the caravan park. An alternative is to stay on the main street and turn off right on Union Street to the SlowWays finish point.
