07 Aug 2023A quite delightful route through the wetlands. Plenty of birdlife on this mostly quiet walk using wide shared paths through Waltham Marsh and Hall Marsh to Chesham Junction. The walk then follows the paved road to Chesham.

04 Dec 2022I walked this from Cheshunt to Waltham Abbey on a chilly December early afternoon. It had rained a little in the past week, but this made little difference to the walk.
It starts at Cheshunt's shopping area, from where it goes along residential streets towards the station. Just beyond the station, most of the route is through Lee Valley park land with grass, trees, rivers, and canals. It is all very pleasant, and not just for an A-to-B walk. Near Waltham Abbey, there is a short section along a busy road, before ending up at the Abbey grounds and finishing on the meridian line.
Easy, lovely (90%), and short.

30 Jun 2022I walked from Waltham Abbey to Cheshunt.
From the pleasant shopping area (pubs cafes) around the corner through a small gate into the Abbey grounds. Short grass and tarmac paths to the Abbey itself, very pretty. There is then a short part along a busy road past Gunpowder Mills to the Lee Valley Park and Waltham Marshes. Good paths through nature reserves and artworks, grasslands and woods. Very nice. You arrive on the outskirts of Cheshunt alongside a railway crossing next to the station. I did not wait for the gates to open but marched over the footbridge. Then a short monotonous road to Cheshunt Town center with shops and cafes.
This was a lovely short walk in beautiful surroundings. Paths good enough for wheels all the way, gate 70cm wide (picture) and a possible wait at the rail crossing.
