04 Dec 2022I walked this on a chilly December late afternoon. It had rained in the past week, but that has no influence on this route.
It starts at Waltham Cross station, and then leads through a shopping centre towards a section along a busy road. There are good pavements and subways, to get across them, and it's not unsafe. It then leads along a cycle path and through some residential streets to end up at Cheshunt's shopping mecca.
It's not very long, but fairly pleasant, and also safe and lit. Not much green though.

13 Nov 2022I walked this route after dark and it was generally fine as a 24/7 urban route. All the footpaths are well lit, and step free. This gives an alternative to Cheswal One, which is greener but unlit at night (and has steps).
Walked from Cheshunt to Waltham Cross.
The first half was pleasant along quiet streets and a long footpath. The section between Theobold’s Grove station and the pedestrian part of the High Street was less pleasant, big busy roads and some crazy driving!
The route passes the Eleanor Cross from which Waltham Cross gets its name. Passes bus station on the way to the railway station.
It’s a decent route, a bit indirect and with the heavy traffic area I’d say it’s 3 stars.

This is a wheel friendly alternative to Cheswal one.
