Description
Uses the better plotted and safer Brored two. But avoids the dogleg through the fields (of rapeseed plants when I struggled through them) as a consequence is more direct and easy to follow, even from high summer to harvest

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

11 Nov 2024I completed this walk yesterday travelling from Redditch. An enjoyable walk, which very narrowly misses out on then full five stars only because of the road walking, in particular the close proximity to the B4096 Hewell Lane. Other than that, it is an excellent route.
Highlights for me were the old church at Tardebigge (photo 7), the top of the Tardebigge flight of locks (photo 8), the views from up there, and the excellent Cross Inn pub at Finstall.
Definitely recommended and would do this walk again. Thanks David.

18 Jun 2023 (edited 20 Jun 2023)Safe, direct, varied and enjoyable walk which I started from Redditch. Either end uses greenways through the towns to negotiate relatively quiet walks. A small amount of walking along quiet lanes. Sections along main roads are on pavements. There's an all too brief bit of towpath too. Steps and stiles. Pubs in Finstall and Tardebigge. Shops and pubs at either end. Links to public transport too.
