Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

19 Apr 2024Another good Slow Ways route easy to follow and direct.
I walked from Bromsgrove crossing over the A38 onto the first of two golf courses which have easy to follow paths and then quiet lane walking before arriving in Blackwell with a nice shop.
After Blackwell you go under the railway before entering the second golf course which was quiet at the time i passed through and onto nice field paths with good views passing the Crown Pub next to Worcester and Birmingham Canal with good beer and food before arriving into Alvechurch. Some stiles on route so not for all users.

21 Jun 2023A thoroughly enjoyable, varied but direct route I started from Bromsgrove. The walk up the pavementless Greenhill involves a little caution, but the roads are signed to be mindful of pedestrians and the drivers I encountered all were. Walking into Blackwell, you are rewarded with a general store (at pretty well the halfway point). There are some great views across open country on this walk. Even the two golf courses are very well signed, and were very quiet on the days I walked through them. The walk builds to the highest point and then a gentle descent into Alvechurch. The only other bit of lane walking was a short section on Wheeley Road and Scarfield Hill, open roads with long sights. Steps and stiles in places. Pubs and cafes at either end.
