Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

27 Feb 2024I walked this route from Ascot to Bracknell. This is a mostly urban route but all the roads either have pavements or are so quiet that it's not a problem.
I took a slight detour on Harvest Ride and walked through the housing estate on the left rather than sticking to the main road. It's fairly easy to navigate from the slow ways map.
I also ignored the last part of the route, when you get to the end of Park Road there is a large roundabout, head into the subway and follow the signs to The Lexicon, it's easy to get to the station from there and means you don't have to cross any major roads.
If you are heading the other way then you can walk from the station towards Fenwick and then turn right and follow the signs for the Met Office Roundabout.
Very urban but I enjoyed the whole walk.

23 Oct 2022Bracknell to Ascot (Braasc 1) review.
Note: I walked Ascot to Bracknell.
The pavement route out of Ascot is alongside the A329.
The Slow Way leaves the noisy A329 for quiet roads and byways that are marked ‘Ramblers Route’ (Photos 1 & 2).
There is a long pavement walk into Bracknell (Photo 3). There are attractive underpass murals on the final stretch to Bracknell train station (Photo 4).
