Description
This is mostly the same route as BETSTR one, but I think this version is more clearly plotted, and shows a shorter and easier line across and between the canals and river Lea north and west of the London stadium, and clarifies the route out of Victoria Park. This is the route we actually walked while trying to follow BETSTR one

12 Nov 2023We walked from Bethnal Green to Stratford.
Agree with the previous two reviews. Quite a varied walk for a city wander with lots of architecture and monuments, parks and precincts.
Seeing the former Olympic site was interesting.
Flat surfaces all the way with exception of the very end at Stratford Station (steps), but here lifts can take you from the station precinct to the bridge into the shopping centre. Bridge over canal has sloped access. Good for wheels.
A lovely walk.
Probably very crowded when West Ham play at home!.

12 Nov 2023A varied and thoroughly enjoyable walk. A mixture of pavement, park, towpath and plaza.

12 Nov 2023We walked this from Bethnal Green to Stratford as part of a six route group walk from King's Cross to Romford. An excellent route, fairly direct, on easy surfaced paths and using safe crossings of all the major roads. There is a flight of steps at the Stratford end but it can be avoided using a lift. There are also steps on the bridge over the Hertford Union canal, which are avoidable using ramps.
A simple pavement walk takes us into Victoria Park, which is deservedly popular with joggers and dog walkers. A short canal section and a few bridges take us into the Olympic Park and past the London stadium, now the West Ham football ground, and we finish with an easy walk past the Olympic Aquatic Centre and through the Westfield Centre then down the steps to Stratford station.
