18 Apr 2023This is a great walk but could be enhanced with a slight deviation from the centre of Frome by taking the route through the cheese and grain car park and walking along the edge of the river past Welshmill Park and then through Spring Gardens to rejoin the walk at Coalash Lane.
It was still muddy at some points but on the whole there was a good variety to this walk, open fields, woodland areas, stony tracks and a cycle track. Very little of this walk was on roads.
Nice pub stop for coffee in Norton St Philip and easy to enjoy a relaxing lunch in Bath at the end of our walk. It is important to note that if you do this walk this way around there is a very steep climb from the cycle track just before the tunnel to Combe Down, which also includes the steps photographed. A very enjoyable and successful walk.

17 Apr 2023 (edited 21 Apr 2023)I recorded and submitted this route, in response to the review of Batfro 1 by Panifex. I agreed the section between Summer Lane ( Combe Down ) and the old railway line ( now cycle track ) can be very confusing : In both directions. I have also adjusted the route to take account of the cropped blocked field near Laverton. Overall the route is the same other than those two changes. I would recommend this route over Batfro one.
