Description
I created this route as part of the Route Sprint 2023, which introduced Aust (Gloucestershire) as a new Slow Ways place on the network.
The route is derived from the former Chetho2, the most popular route on the former Chepstow-Thornbury Slow Way, with the section from Chepstow to Aust removed (as that is now part of a new Slow Way), and with improved fidelity

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

30 Jan 2024I originally walked this as part of a now-deleted Slow Way between Thornbury and Chepstow (Aust has recently been added as a Slow Ways place). Sadly I have lost the text of my original review so this is rather from memory! It is a good walk. I did it in the Aust to Thornbury direction. It crosses the Severn Vale, mainly through pasture land, some of which is likely to be rather wet underfoot in winter (fine when I walked it in Spring). The signage wasn't the best in the Manor Farm/Cote Farm area at the Aust end but it is a very straightforward walk along the Jubilee Way up into Thornbury with lots of nice views around. Pubs in Aust and Littleton-upon-Severn on the way. Excellent bus connections at the Thornbury end. Zero public transport to Aust.
