18 Aug 2024I’m sure it’s accurately plotted so I hold up my hand that in places I failed to follow it. A great walk for a first time visitor, not to London, but to this area so my head was on constant swivel to take in all the sights.
The narrow strip of garden along the course of the New River was great and brought back memories of boating on the River Lee at Ware where I saw the Amwell Spring. I strayed from Colebrook Row in front of a terrace of attractive houses but had to backtrack as there was no way out. The next point of interest (POI) was a crane to the basement of a house recently refurbished as dwelling with workspace.
Hitting the main road a pub had a good floral display. I should have crossed the road but failure to do so gave me a sight of a mural of Gandhi. Leave the main road here to walk through a rock garden again the line of the New River.
From the end of this delightful path it’s Canonbury Road to Highbury and Islington station which appears to have had a rename since 1904.
A great walk, thanks.

11 Aug 2022I walked from Angel to Highbury.
A surprisingly delightful walk for an inner city route.
It threads through linear parks and quiet terrace roads with large street trees (planes). Lots of cool shade on a hot, cloudless, sunny morning. Busy roads beginning and end of the route with shops pubs and cafes.
There are steps (see picture) but these can be wheeled around.

06 May 2022Seeing as Anghig one is already verified, I walked this route instead. I was not at all disappointed. It's essentially in three parts.
There's some neighbourhood and High Street walking on the southern end that's perfectly pleasant; there's some lovely park walking in the middle stretch; finally, there's perfectly fine pavement walking up to Highbury & Islington Station.
I have no complaints. This is a solid route. Full marks!.
