    1. I walked this survey of Stotho one from Stockton to Thornaby. Starting on Stockton high street at the town hall, you go down Finkle Street and then have to slope down to cross the busy riverside road. This is a potentially dangerous crossing, the middle island is quite narrow - someone with a wheelchair or a buggy might feel unsafe. No photo taken at the time, sorry. An alternative is to use the bridge over (as in the route Stomid one), however this does have steps on the slopes up and down (see my Stomid photo survey). 0 km from start — 25 May 2021

    2. Riverside path until the bridge. Solid and well lit, places to rest. 0.2 km from start — 25 May 2021

    3. The route uses these steps up to the bridge, but there is a nice slope up also - seen here on the right. 0.5 km from start — 25 May 2021

    4. On the other side of the river, the route follows alongside the river then unfortunately reaches this. There is no pathway up, just a steep grassy embankment - the tunnel is a muddy then overgrown dead end (do not believe the graffiti advertising free wifi!). There would be a way to avoid this obstacle but you'd have to depart the riverside path much earlier and then route back. 1 km from start — 25 May 2021

    6. There is a pair of single kerbs down and then back up from the road. To avoid them, you can divert slightly from the route by avoiding George Street entirely: stay on the left hand side and go along Thornaby road until the roundabout at the top of the A66 slip road, you then rejoin this route. 1.2 km from start — 25 May 2021
