16. If Broadford Loop option is taken this is the footpath decline at the end of the loop where the path passes a pillbox and rejoins the towpath. Note the path also alongside a mainline railway line km from start — 05 May 2021
17. St Catherine's Hill historical landslides have made path camber steep in places and path is undulating km from start — 05 May 2021
18. Use for current diversion to avoid missing footbridge at Millbrook in Guildford. Note there are currently no signs for diversion. Rather than continuing left as marked, cross the bridge to the A281 Millbrook. Note the steep flight of steps on the bridge and narrow gate make this unsuitable for wheeled users. Turn left towards Guildford town and then left into side road to Yvonne Arnaud Theatre. Take footpath to left of the theatre, cross the bridge at the lock and continue back to the route. Cross the bridge to the car park in front of The Brittania pub. 8 km from start — 05 May 2021
19. Current diversion take the A281 Millbrook towards town then turn left at the theatre 8.1 km from start — 05 May 2021
20. Rather than follow the exact route and have to cross busy road junctions. With The White House pub on your right continue straight on through a car park. Keep alongside the river and under the road bridge and turn left in front of the offices. This takes you up onto a pavement alongside the busy road. Take this underpass which then brings you out in front of Guildford station 8.5 km from start — 05 May 2021
