    1. Public Path sign for a dead-end footpath. This is the beginning of the overgrown path heading towards the river. Apart from the sign (which you could miss coming out of the cycle gate) the path is difficult to see. 4.1 km from start — 07 Aug 2021

    3. This shows the unkempt footpath which gets progressively worse. This is an informal route to the river that is not recognised (and therefore not maintained) by the Highways Agency. 4.1 km from start — 07 Aug 2021

    4. The style at the end of the path (I was scratched, bloodied and stung to reach this point!) The HA Access Officier believes that the style has been put up by the Nature Wildlife Trust to gain access to the area. Note the sharp incline behind the style - this is the flood protection bank and involves a scramble to get up as there are no steps up to the top. 4.3 km from start — 07 Aug 2021
