This is a nice route, which I managed to complete but the route comes with some drawbacks....

The road turning off from the train station is slightly different to the map, you're unable to cross the river on the Lizard Circular walk so we had to continue on the road for a short while until it turns to the right but the footpath continues onwards until the A11 where it then turns left and crosses the river. We took Bluebell road towards Eaton park which we thought to be a much more interesting route, the park itself being home to a cafe and ponds with lovely architecture so well worth a visit if you have time and not too far out of the way either....

This section seemed to pass very quickly compared to the others, with small back lanes and the occasional footpath and train crossing, nothing exceptional here but just a pleasant steady route. I don't remember seeing any obstacles so possibly okay for those with accessibility needs The route is fine for joining Wymdomham to Attleborough...

(Lizard circular) We carried along road alongside houses till we got the field pointing to Ketts country path. It was fine until you get closer to the Main road where the nettles were extremely hard to navigate. Turn off the road onto edge of field track. We then re joined the route by going right at Mile End road....

But was bumpy and pretty, went back on the road after the train crossing was peaceful but road side walk after that....

Started with a closed track (lizard circular track) so had to detour around it, down lizard road and then a track. Once the lizard circular track is re opened it would be great. Turned into a very pretty track with overhanging bush and trees which has horses and cows on your adjacent fields....

After crossing the Wymondham Road at Hethel, you get to walk through the Long Wood, which is fairly unstable ground so need to be careful where you step....
Thomas Smith
Once finally bashing our way through the nettles, it was then on to walking through fields and farm land, with varying ease of what route to follow. The route was scenic but there were a couple of v muddy farm tracks to cross where farm animals had been (ps don’t anger the Cows!)....
Thomas Smith
Parts of the walk were a bit overgrown and you do have to walk through what appears to be a farmer's land and was a bit more difficult to walk over....
Olivia Barker
My only other comment is that the route has an 'elbow' as you approach Rouen Road in Norwich, whereas there are more direct ways to approach the Riverside bridge fom this direction....
Fred Jones
The route is primarily on roads, but outside of Wymondham and Norwich, most are quiet country roads. The route was accurate, apart from when we reached the section which uses the Lizard Circular walk in Wymondham - the bridge over the river has been removed by the landowner and we were unable to cross....

It's still got a few roads in but they were generally quieter lanes - noting we walked this on a Saturday spring afternoon so traffic may vary. It could be more direct in places but some of the roads in the area are quite busy and it makes it less pleasant to walk. Four stars as it was still road routes but some stretches were quite lovely including cottages , wildlife and the railway....

Crossing the slip roads at Thickthorn is enabled by pedestrian lights, and a new path behind the hedge by Kett's Oak has filled in a much needed gap on the route....

The route is mainly through fields however there are also some parts on the road and at one point you have to cross Norwich road which is quite a busy road. A few parts of the route were quite hidden...
Katie Parsons
Starting in the town centre, there are footpaths out of the town, with traffic lights to enable easy crossing of the main road on the edge of Wymondham. Soon after this, the walk then spent a long period of time on country roads, there was generally space if cars were coming, and the road was fairly quiet, so fairly easy to walk along. Shortly after that you come to a Waitrose supermarket and a pub, before following Newmarket Road into Norwich - where it meets the ring road there is a pedestrian crossing a short distance away to enable easy crossing of this busy road. - although a generally easy route to follow, there were overgrown footpaths at a number of points which wouldn't be easily accessible, and currently actual barriers across part of the footpath just outside Wymondham, suggesting that the path itself maybe shouldn't be used, and this was a slight challenge to navigate (and definitely not accessible for wheelchairs or pushchairs)...

Katy Walters added Wymmul four, a new walk from Wymondham to Mulbarton
Walk this routeI feel this offers a more attractive option for Wymmul than those which pass through Wreningham village as there is less road walking involved, but it does mean you don't pass a pub or other facilities en route....

These head from The Lizard down into the marshy nature reserve, then up onto a path along an old railway embankment, then down again into an overgrown field. The path through the Lizard nature reserve is a boardwalk across marshy ground. Newmarket Road into Norwich is a wide, shady path and cycle path beside the A11 past the biggest houses in Norwich....

A short section at the Hingham end on a footpath that we felt might be a little inaccessible as fairly narrow between fields, and then a short section through Wymondham Abbey which was the highlight....
Rachel Hoxley
It is slightly longer between Mulbarton and Wreningham than the other two slow ways for the same journey but the route is very pleasant. We took the slight detour suggested in the overview as it was not obvious if there was a right of way of any sort....

A lot of the route is the Kett's Country Walk, which isn't signposted. Though pleasant, the route meanders for the sake of it. Apart from the road from the A11 to Lotus Cars, most of the lanes around here are quiet enough for walkers....
