Walk this routeI was in the home straight of this in Sedgley when I discovered that there's no way through at the end of Horton Close. Looking at the map there isn't even a suggestion that there is. Poor plotting!...

However, the plotting on the golf course is sufficiently out to be misleading (it suggests you cross the course before you reach the actual footpath) and needs fixing...

As such it is pretty flat and accessible but sadly the exit at Wombourne entails a flight of steps which makes the track exit at this point unavailable to wheelchairs, buggies etc....

Following the route of the old South Staffs Railway it's well used, friendly and very easy to follow....

Walk this routeA great Slow Way in theory, but the section into Lower Penn is rather pointless as it adds 1km to what should only be a 6km route. I walked a route missing it out and will submit it as a separate Slow Way...

The rest of the walk consists of the residential streets of The Straits, Lower Gornal and London Fields, alternating with parks and nature reserves. It consists of quite a few climbs too, but the views are amazing! This route is safe, direct, offroad, where it can be, varied in nature and with quite a few stops and shops in its undulating 10km....

The South Staffordshire Railway Route is the best thing about this route so as I followed the route I was sorry to leave it....
