I have walked parts of this before, especially heading up the hill from Harrow-on-the-Hill station. After crossing the met line towards the playing fields, there is a little final hill before ending up in Uxbridge and after a short walk you're at the finish....

There are good reviews on the other routes that include parts of this route (Southall to Hayes and Hayes to Uxbridge). When you reach Uxbridge the route leaves the canal on to the A4007, which you can follow all the way towards the town centre....
Aamwalk
The canal path is what you'd expect (can get muddy, but it's not deep) and has been resurfaced along some of its length....
Chris Attfield
It's much easier to continue along the path by the motorway until it reaches the Slough Road, the walk along the road until you meet where the other path comes out.....

I walked and reviewed Uxbhar Two and at the time thought there could be an alternative which skips the pull up Harrow hill, and goes directly to Harrow from Rayners Lane. I also enjoyed ice cream at the cafe at West Harrow rec, this is definitely a bonus that Uxbhar Two doesn’t deliver!...

There is the (from South to North): Uxbridge Alderglade nature reserve, Denham Country Park (with visitor centre), Denham Lock Woods (broad walk closed for replacement at time of my writing), Frays Meadow, Harefield Place Nature Reserve and Denham Quarry Woodlands. You then follow the canal path and at the very steep bridge the slow way route follows the Colne Valley path through the Denham Quarry Woods....
Aamwalk
There’s a short break at Ruislip Gardens (Central line tube); at Rayners Lane the path leaves the Yeading and goes through residential streets. The path was a bit informal through long grass, followed by a steep shady final climb....

After a short stretch along Iver Lane, the route joins the London LOOP (photo #-#6) and goes along the lovely River Colne (photo #7-#8), with a fair amount of butterflies (photo #3), to finally end up at some residential streets in Uxbridge (photo #10)....
Derick Rethans
This path wasn't passable due to large amounts of water on the path, and my boots weren't high enough. On the other side of the fairly busy West End Road, the route continues first over a tarmac path, then a gravel path, and finally a dirt path through the woods, towards the Yeading Brook Meadows, where the paths were decidedly muddy, but still passable. It is mapped to cut off a corner near Park Road/ St Andrews Road, and although the path is there, I didn't spot it, and instead walked around the construction area....
Derick Rethans
The other end of the route also has Battle of Britain connections, though the Polish War Memorial at the Northolt roundabout on the A40 is not on the route itself....
Martin McGovern
I don't have a lot to add to the other reviews, but I would like to reiterate - Strider's review mentions a 35cm gap, which I thought couldn't be true - but it is! Thoroughly pleasant, and not too muddy when I did it (December 2022)....

I walked this from Gerrards Cross to Uxbridge, on a warmish autumn afternoon. The route starts at the Tescos and after some walking along the high street you quickly cross into the nice common. Starting from Tesco there is a short high street before reaching Gerrards Cross' pleasant common. On the other side there is a short walk beside the A40 before cutting thorough a quiet 'access only' road. This exits by a bus stop and you have to cross the A40 and walk along it a bit further into Tatting End. Cross again by another bus stop, down a quiet road to a new gravel road passing through woods....

I walked this on a sunny warm autumn afternoon, from Uxbridge to South Harefield. It's easy to follow, and pretty much straight....
Derick Rethans
As opposed to crawling under the bridge I continued left along bridal way to slough road which you can follow to Uxbridge and re join the stated route....
Aamwalk
I would add that you can question whether you are allowed to follow the track out of Iver, due to the number of private property and cctv signs along the track, But you can. For most of the route you can easily forget you are on the edge of suburbs....
Aamwalk
Later at the other issues, when you get to the large roundabout as the West Drayton road joins the stockley road go into the new park entrance on the corner. I like stockley park, you can either walk around the edge of the park (around the golf course) or follow the path through the middle....

Walk this routeI walked from Gerrards Cross to Uxbridge. On the other side there is a short walk beside the A40 before cutting thorough a quiet 'access only' road. Cross again by another bus stop, down a quiet road to a new gravel road passing through woods....

This route quickly takes you out of the town center through a park, to a riverside path behind a pub and houses....
Strider
Past some houses the path turns alongside the M25, very pretty but quite noisy. Up the other side there is a lovely riverside walk along a root-strewn path, across a road, then between the river and gardens to the General Elliott pub....
Strider
There is a bridge and road to cross near The Malt Shovel pub and later some busy roads in Uxbridge town but otherwise it is flat, easy to navigate pretty canal paths full of nature....
Strider
I've included a picture of the correction, or take the path along the Uxbridge Road as shown on the Haysou route (the better option I think). The above part is along uninspiring suburban residential streets, the rest I've reviewed in 2 parts as Uxbhay and Haysou. Its mostly canals which some find humdrum but on this walk I saw: mandarin, mallard, golden eye, coot, cormorant - Kite, kestrel, crow, blue tits, wagtails - coral spot, jew's ear, turkey tail, birch polypore, field mushroom - oak ash, maple, Hawthorne, cherry - bluebells, dandelions, anemones, Blossom and purple orchid - and so much more....
Strider
There is some canalside industrial impact, in particular at the Hayes end of the route; but mostly it’s the sort of peaceful off road path one expects along a canal. Both where I joined the towpath at Uxbridge, and left it at Hayes, the route line wasn’t completely accurate and I had to look around for the access points....

miketalbot added Geruxb two, a new walk from Gerrards Cross to Uxbridge
Walk this routeThis might be possible but it's 4 lanes of fast traffic and I found no easy or safe way to cross. I loaded an alternative to avoid this....
miketalbot
Unfortunately, this route is fairly unpleasant – most of it is either on narrow footpaths next to fast roads or alongside industrial farms. At one point around the half way point the farm is undertaking serious earthwork and the footpath is non-existent, hopefully once that finishes the path will be clearer. Footpaths along the middle section are often overgrown, muddy and there is quite a bit of rubbish and flytipping along the way....

1: route goes through a gate into the grounds of Brunel University and this gate is only open 7am - 7pm weekedays, closed at weekends. 2: approaching Stockley Park business park on the A408, this route indicates a left turn but this seems to be through a very narrow gate, seriously overgrown and not passable safely....
miketalbot
Slight ammend needed - at Southall end I could not find a path to go left on Ranelagh Road, as shown on this route....
miketalbot
You then follow the Grand Union Canal/ CV trail/ London Loop signs all the way to Uxbridge along the canal tow path....
Strider
On the other side take the small gate next to the big gate across a building site on a well-made diverted path. There is then a long section through suburban residential roads of North Hillingdon (if roads are not your thing, take the first part of Uxbhar2 which comes within 120m of this path by Freezeland Covert). At the South end of Ten Acres join the Dog Rose Ramble path left across the Golden Bridge, there is a good path past the West London Shooting Grounds, then across a busy road to a signed path next to an Adventure Golf center (Ankylosaurus!)....
Strider
More importantly I don't think the MOD would approve of people wandering along the runways of RAF Northolt! I've created Uxbhar Two as a viable alternative....
Strider
There is a short section of suburban road walking from Uxbridge Town center. Steep (34%) hill up to St Mary's then an equally steep hill down towards Harrow Town Centre, some great panoramic views....
Strider
Lovely walk, with the exception of 30 metres where the footpath ceases to exist and it forces you to crawl under an M25 overpass. Not really recommended if you're a tall person (>1.75m). Great views of the Chilterns after that!...
