Help connect Uppingham

Many Slow Ways have several route options. Some will be better than others, or good for different reasons.

Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.

Give a hike and help get a for every one of Uppingham’s Slow Ways.

Latest Updates

A good direct route, mostly off road on well waymarked paths, but pretty tough in wet winter conditions - lots of wet slippery mud and a few clayfields. More sodden fields take us to Glooston, then a long quiet straight uphill road walk takes us to the bend just above Cranoe, from where the route to Hallaton goes over a succession of small hills, some on barely visible paths through pasture land. We cross Uppingham Road and cross the stream, then bear uphill to join what is now Stockerston Road, which has good verges. So my boots were fairly well cleaned approaching the final field, but unfortunately that was another wet clay arable field so the boots were caked in mud again by the time I returned to Stockerston Road....
