There is a short section of road walking on the way into Talbot Green along a sharp bend, which seemed quite busy, so be aware....

This is an excellent Slow Way, mostly through fields and woodlands, especially the Brynna Woods, Llanharan Marshes and the woods above Llanharan House and Craig Melyn. The route is straight forward until just after Llanharan House. The path through the next section of woods is also straight forward, but coming out into the next fields is again not so clear, but it goes through the farmyard at Garth Uchaf and from there it`s straight forward....

Walked from Llanharry to Talbot Green. Nice walk, mostly paved and easy to navigate. A bit overgrown in one section in Llanharry but other than that fine....

A good stretch of it follows the River Ely and from Talbot Green to Pontyclun, it follows a well signed cycle path....

Walked from Talbot Green to Pencoed. You leave Talbot Green via Lanelay House and a small country lane. The ridgeway is lovely with wood lined paths or green pastures that run through to Llanharan House. You then pass by the train station and head into the Nature Reserve call Brynna Wood and Llanharan Marshes....

Just before the bridge (opposite the pub) you follow the old enclosed track alongside the river (photo d) and into an industrial estate. As you leave the station you follow a wide cycle lane alongside the river (photo b). As you hit the road remember to cross the bridge and continue the opposite side of the river (photo a(2)) this will lead you into Talbot Green where you finish the walk along the last stretch of the road....

Once away from the dual carriageway linking Talbot Green to the M4, it became a nice rural walk through lanes and fields. The only other wet area was after crossing the footbridge over the stream on the path leaving the road after the cemetery just outside Talbot Green, some strategically placed logs and stones, already in place, saved the day though....

From the old Llantrisant streets and the church and then the short trip down the steep and stony path over the moor into Talbot Green....

After the initial road walk out of Talbot Green, the path follows national cycle route 4 up the Ely Valley as far as Coedely / Thomastown....

This route is accurate, and a more interesting way to walk into Llantrisant from Talbot Green than by using the main road. The final ascent into town is very steep....

The first part of this walk was lovely, although I would recommend taking the right turn after leaving Mill Street in Tonyrefail rather than going straight ahead, and following the path to link up with the suggested route....
